El Paso Aqua Posse (EPAP) is a year-round competitive swim team that has become one of the most successful swim programs in Texas. The El Paso Aqua Posse founded in 1957, boasts swimmers that range from pre-competition to Olympic Trial Qualifiers by providing an environment which allows for each swimmer to maximize their potential.
El Paso County Parks & Recreation Division provides a safe, healthy, and enjoyable recreation environment for the citizens of El Paso County. Border Swimming is a Local Swim Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming. It is composed of 8 teams: Barracuda Aquatic Team (BAT), El Paso BorderLand Swim Team (BLAST), Desert Shark Swim Club (DSSC), El Paso Aqua Posse (EPAP), Just Care Aquatics Tritons (JCAT), Radford Aquatics Swim Team (RAST), Southwest Aquatic Team (SWAT), and West Texas Typhoon Swim Club (WETT).
El Paso County Aquatics are based in 3 facilities across the county. Focusing on a safe, family friendly environment for all ages and abilities. The aquatic centers feature water slides, lap swimming, diving boards, and more. With one of the only Olympic size pools in the county, Ascarate is the destination for swim teams, meets, and just fun!
SWIM CLASSES City of El Paso Adult & Youth Swim Classes. The Learn to Swim program offers swimming lessons for adults and youth of all levels, including Adult Beginner, Fitness/Conditioning, and Masters. Go to a 25-yard pool during regular lap swimming hours. Please note that there is a $3 entry fee at City of El Paso pools. CITY OF EL PASO LAP SWIMMING SCHEDULE. Time yourself in the 300-yard swim or ask a friend or lifeguard to time you. Swim 300 yards giving it your best effort! 300 meters is 6 out-and-back laps or 12 lengths of the pool.
If you need on-to-one instruction, SISD offers adult and child private swim lessons. Each class meets for 30 minutes, twice weekly, for a total of 4 lessons. All private lessons are scheduled upon the adult's, child's and instructor's availability. Please contact the Aquatics Center for more information.
